Simultaneously, he addressed the concerns of Khalkan-Dukan residents by allocating funds to resume a stalled infrastructure project, highlighting his commitment to both cultural and community development in the Kurdistan Region.
Message to the Kakais on Qultas Holiday
Qubad Talabani sent a heartfelt congratulatory message to the Kakais (Yarsanis) on the occasion of their Qultas holiday. He praised their vibrant traditions and cultural richness, calling them a vital component of Kurdish society. Talabani highlighted the Kakais’ significant contributions to fostering coexistence and their sacrifices during the Kurdish revolutionary and national struggles.
In his message, Talabani stated:
“On the occasion of the Qultas holiday, I offer my warmest congratulations to the Yarsani brothers and sisters (Kakais). I wish you all a holiday filled with joy and happiness.
The Kakais are a vital part of Kurdish society, with rich and peaceful customs, traditions, and culture. In unity with other communities, they have played a significant role in promoting and strengthening the spirit of coexistence. During the revolutionary and national struggle, they stood at the forefront, defending the national rights of the Kurdish people.”
Resumption of Khalkan-Dukan Project
In response to public concerns, Qubad Talabani intervened to ensure the resumption of the Khalkan-Dukan infrastructure project. The project, which had been on hold, faced increasing demands from local residents for its completion. After a week of protests highlighting the need to address infrastructure and electricity shortages, Talabani ordered the allocation of necessary funds.
Dukan Governor Sirwan Sarhad confirmed the decision in a press conference, stating:
“The project will be completed on time on the decision of Qubad Talabani. For this purpose, the implementing company has been instructed to resume work.”
A representative of the project’s implementing company assured the public that financial support from the Deputy Prime Minister would enable immediate resumption:
“Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani has promised to provide us with full financial support to complete the project, and we will resume our work as soon as possible.”
