Under the supervision of Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, and with oversight from the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Delphi-Slemani Forum will take place on May 18-19. This strategic initiative represents a groundbreaking dialogue platform focusing on the Middle East and global issues, marking its inaugural session in Slemani (Al-Sulaymaniyah) as a bridge between East and West at a time when global coordination is more vital than ever.

Strategic Regional Development and Investment Opportunities

Delphi Economic Forum, a strategic platform for dialogue, coordination, and regional development, will address key areas including security, sustainable energy, economic diversification, and recent developments, with special emphasis on investment opportunities. This initiative follows Talabani’s participation in the main Delphi Economic Forum in Greece for the third consecutive year, where he highlighted Kurdistan’s commitment to reducing oil dependency by developing industry, agriculture, and tourism sectors.

During previous forums, Talabani called for increased engagement from the United States and European Union, emphasizing the need for sustainable growth through long-term partnerships. This upcoming Slemani event fulfills his expressed interest in bringing the forum to Kurdistan, demonstrating the region’s growing role in international dialogue.

International Participation and Coordination

The forum will welcome numerous prominent personalities from Iraq, Greece, and around the world, including major business leaders and investors, to formulate commercial policies and strategies while fostering regional coordination. Organized in collaboration with the Kurdistan Regional Government, the event is supervised by the General Secretariat for International Relations and the Foreign Affairs Desk of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with the Greek agency Enterprise Greece.

Building a Bridge Between East and West

The Delphi-Slemani Forum aims to become a pioneering international platform for policy and business strategy development across an expanded region. Positioning Slemani as a crucial bridge between Eastern and Western interests, the forum comes at a critical juncture when global coordination faces unprecedented challenges and opportunities.

This initiative builds upon the main Delphi Economic Forum’s decade-long tradition of addressing transformative global issues. As the parent forum celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2025, it continues to examine critical developments from climate crisis and geopolitical shifts to technological impacts on societies and economies, bringing together world leaders to explore solutions for a more resilient, sustainable, and inclusive future.

The Slemani extension of this prestigious gathering further strengthens Kurdistan’s position in the international community while creating new pathways for investment and cooperation in a region seeking greater stability and prosperity.
