PUK Launches Strategic Academy to Cultivate Next Generation of Kurdish Leaders​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

A new academy dedicated to developing young and capable cadres from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan launched this week. The strategic initiative follows recommendations from the PUK’s fifth congress and President Bafel Jalal Talabani, aiming to provide structured academic training for promising party members.

Opening Ceremony and Mission

The Education and Development Academy of PUK’s Center of General Studies was inaugurated in a dignified ceremony attended by Rafaat Abdullah, Deputy President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Dr. Yousif Goran, head of the Center of General Studies and members of the Political Bureau and Leadership, university professors, and cadres enrolled in the party work diploma program.

Dr. Mofaq Khalid, Director of the Education and Development Academy, opened the ceremony with a detailed presentation about the importance of the cadre education system and the preparation process.

Dr. Yousif Goran, head of the PUK’s Center of General Studies, outlined the academy’s policy, stating: “Our objective is to educate and develop our youth in various fields. Through a lengthy process, we will work to provide our cadres with academic and modern scientific specialization in several subjects to create quality cadres.”

Leadership Support and Program Structure

Deputy President of PUK Rafaat Abdullah expressed appreciation for the General Studies Center’s efforts, saying: “Opening the Academy is an important and strategic project for educating and creating skilled and capable cadres. We must all work together to ensure the academy’s success and support this initiative.”

The first course at the Education and Development Academy is a “Political Diploma” with 122 cadres participating from cities and towns across Kurdistan. The program will continue for seven months.

Beyond this initial program, the academy plans to offer several short-term courses for PUK cadres from various organizational bodies in the near future.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
